baconplank_newThis just might be the most sublime Jam that has ever come across my desk. In fact, just typing this has me giddy. Two words: Bacon and Beer. That’s it. I shouldn’t have to write any more. I should just give a time and place and let the stampede begin. But, I’ll elaborate.

This Saturday, the Baltimore-based beer company Heavy Seas is bringing those two glorious items together for an event like none other. The Capital Bacon & Beer Bash at National Harbor will feature more than 10 D.C.-area restaurants serving up their specialty bacon dishes in a competition where all the attendees are the judges. And this ain’t your run-of-the-mill bacon. I’m talking bourbon, jalepeno, maple, peppered encrusted, honey BBQ, apple cinnamon, duck!!, cottage, juniper, applewood and, yep, many more. Top it off with over 10 beers from Heavy Seas to wash down all the pork goodness and you’ve got yourself a sure-fire winner.

When: Saturday, Nov. 20, Session 1: Noon – 4 p.m., Session 2: 5 – 9 p.m.
