Still clinging to those resolutions? You may not be if you pass by District Taco next Monday.

The Arlington-based taco spot is hosting a taco eating contest open to all those 18 and older. The favorite local joint, which also has a roaming food cart, is known for their tacos, burritos and all-day breakfast menu. The rules of the contest are simple: eat as many tacos as you can in 15 minutes. The wrinkle? Four different tacos will be offered and contestants must eat them in a specific order. First comes the breakfast taco, then pollo asado, next are the carnitas, and finally, carne asada. Then repeat. And repeat. And….

If this sounds like your thing and cutting back on meat, cheese and cholesterol wasn’t part of your 2011 plan then sign up quickly because all entries must be received by tommorrow, Thursday, January 6. Nine people will then be randomly selected and chosen to compete. The winner will be forever enshrined on District Taco’s Wall of Fame and also receive much fanfare, acclaim and many other prizes.
