Best of Falls Church: Best Live Music – The State Theatre

Best Live Music Venue: The State Theatre – 220 N. Washington St., Falls Church

STATE

The State Theatre live music venue has lived up to and surpassed all expectations for helping to put the Little City of Falls Church on the map in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Since opening in the mid-1990s, it has sustained a schedule of outstanding live music performances suited for the 700-seat venue, and to top it off, for the last five years the State has been the site of the annual Washington Area Music Association “Wammies” award ceremony.

That major annual event brings the cream of the crop of the Metropolitan Washington-wide music scene, from entertainers, to agents, to media, to groupies and fans. They all pile into Falls Church and spend money here, thanks to Tom Carter’s masterful leadership of his business.

In recent years, the City of Falls Church has slowly awakened to the economic development potential of this event, and the State’s nightly offerings, and begun efforts to market the wider City to the events’ patrons.

Without a doubt, the State Theatre is the Best Live Music Venue in F.C.
