Planners Get a Look at 917 W. Broad Plans

At a work session Monday night, the Falls Church Planning Commission got a gander of the plans for a new two-story building at 917 W. Broad St., the current site of the El Zunzal restaurant.

Dominion Jewelers, currently located at Rowell Court next door, purchased the property, and will place a new building with its retail services on the ground floor and rental offices above. Being constructed “by right” with no petitions for special exceptions or zoning changes, the site plan will be taken up by Planning Commission formally soon. The building plans have already passed muster twice with the Falls Church Fire Marshal, and the owners have voluntarily agreed to improve the sidewalk on W. Broad in front of the property.

Also, rear access to the parking lot on the property will be available from both Rowell Court, to its west, and the Crisp and Juicy site to its east.
