F.C. Files Lawsuit to Nullify Fairfax Anti-F.C. Water Ordinance

Falls Church City Manager Wyatt Shields informed the News-Press today that the City of Falls Church formally filed in the Fairfax Circuit Court late last week to nullify a unanimous vote taken by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors that presumed to give the county effective veto power over the water rates charged by suppliers from beyond its borders, such as the Falls Church Water System. The lawsuit seeks to confirm that the county does not have the right to overturn the legislative responsibility of a separate jurisdiction, which is tasked to make sure that the finances of its water system are managed in a proper manner.

Shields said that the City of Fairfax has also filed a similar court action.
