Former F.C. City Schools Accountant Dies at Age 82

Bettie W. Davis, 82, a resident of Falls Church for more than 50 years, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, in Ashburn.

Mrs. Davis retired from her position as an accountant with the Falls Church City School Board in 1994. Her husband, Milton Davis, is a retired English teacher from George Mason Jr. Sr. High School.

She is survived by her husband of more than 59 years, daughters Lydia Davis Pratt and Dee Dee Davis Sharron, son Gary Davis and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis was also a member of Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church for more than 45 years.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Ashby Ponds Retirement Community, 21170 Ashby Ponds Blvd., Ashburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation (www.copdfoundation.org, 866-731-2670) or the Leesburg Community Church (www.leesburgcc.org, 703-777-2209).
