Hundreds Gather at Cherry Hill Park for Civil War Day

DSC 0139The annual Civil War Day event, held last Saturday, saw a sizeable turnout fill Cherry Hill Park for an afternoon of family-friendly activities, demonstrations, and performances to teach participants about what it was like to live in Civil War-era Virginia.

The HistoryMobile, a museum devoted to Virginia history contained within a mobile tractor-trailer, was featured at this year’s event, and over the five hours it was open, more than 600 people stopped by – quite a large turnout, according to HistoryMobile staff. (Photos: Rebecca Moot)
