1st Annual Picnic to Honor All F.C. Volunteers

This Saturday, the City of Falls Church will host its first annual all-volunteers picnic at Cherry Hill Park to honor all members of boards and commissions and other volunteer service opportunities in the City. According to City Manager Wyatt Shields, there were 840 volunteers in the City in the past year putting in 44,000 hours of service. The picnic will begin at 12:30 p.m. following the annual Falls Clean Up which kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Community Center. In another event Saturday, the F.C. Volunteer Fire Departments hosts its annual fire station open house to encourage familiarity with fire prevention measures. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the N. Washington St. station.
