Drumstix Dash Benefit Race to Fight NoVa Homelessness

The Drumstix Dash, a challenging post-Thanksgiving 8K race held at Burke Lake Park, will benefit Housing and Community Services of Northern Virginia and its efforts to combat homelessness.

The Drumstix Dash kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday. The event, now in its fourth year, is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors and Sheehy Ford, and includes an 8K run as well as a family-friendly fun run and walk. Refreshments and awards will be offered, and all registered runners will receive a goody bag and a race shirt. Prizes will be awarded to top runners overall, and also to the top three men and women in various age groups.

Proceeds from the race will be used for HCSNV’s mission of providing counseling and support services to Fairfax County citizens who are in danger of losing their homes.

Registration fees are $30 for the 8K ($35 on race day) and $15 for the fun run. Race participants may pick up their registration packets from Noon – 4 p.m. Friday at the Potomac River Running Store, 5715 Burke Centre Parkway, Burke. Late registration is available on race day beginning at 8 a.m.

Burke Lake Park is located at 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station. For more information, visit hcsnv.org/events/drumstix-dash-8k-race.
