Saturday Brunch to Help Fund F.C.-McLean Children’s Center

At an Original Pancake House fundraiser this Saturday, 20 percent of participating diners’ tabs will go to support an area preschool that serves children from low-income families, the Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center.

Diners must bring a flyer, found at fcmlcc.org, to participate. Information can also be found there regarding the year-round early childhood education program for children ages 2-5. The Children’s Center, located at 7230 Idylwood Road, Falls Church, in a dedicated wing of Lemon Road Elementary School, has served the area for 45 years.

Low-income, working families that qualify for a child care subsidy from Fairfax County’s Office for Children can pay tuition to the Children’s Center on a sliding scale below the cost of care. The center raises the difference through events and other means to keep the program accessible to working parents.

Original Pancake House is located at 7395 Lee Highway, Falls Church. Fundraiser hours are 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
