Musical Comedy ‘Little Shop’ to Close F.C. High Season

“Little Shop of Horrors,” the beloved musical satire by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, will be presented on Falls Church High School’s main stage this May 2 – 4 at 7 p.m. The production will be Falls Church High’s first musical since 2010.

In “Little Shop,” the naïve Seymour Krelborn (Mark Zubaly) finds a “strange and unusual plant” (Max Johnson) that brings him untold fortune and fame. Seymour never dreamed that this persuasive, sassy, and salivating Venus fly-trap he took in could only survive on human blood. Seymour becomes an anemic wreck, but when the plant grows its hunger becomes too great. Meanwhile, Seymour tries to kindle a love with Audrey (Melanie Reuter). The only thing that stands in the way is Audrey’s abusive boyfriend Orin (Gunnar Frodigh). Seymour serves Orin up as an hours d’oeuvre. However, the plant remains hungry – it wants its main course, and Audrey is looking like a fine, tender entrée.

Tickets will be $10 at the door, and $8 at fchsdrama.org.
