The City of Falls Church Sheriff’s Office presented a gun violence prevention and safety training session to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 895 on April 24. Sheriff Steve Bittle, Sgt. Adam Linn, and Cpl. Charles Ayoub presented the training to scouts and their parents. The training presented rules of firearm safety, including what to do in situations involving guns; how to safely handle handguns; and how to identify, unload, and make safe the different types of handguns. Thanks for what you’re doing for the Boy Scouts! Just as we teach Scouts to safely use a pool, or a canoe, or Scout knife – we have to teach boys how to be safe around guns. Ignorance is the real danger.
