Strictly Painting 9 to Open at MPA Thursday

McLean Project for the Arts will open its Strictly Painting 9 exhibit this Thursday night with a reception and gallery talk from 7 – 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Strictly Painting 9 is MPA’s biennial juried painting exhibition. This year’s juror is Margaret Heiner, owner and director of Heiner Contemporary in Georgetown. The following artists were chosen out of a field of nearly 200: John Anderson, Mary Ann Arntzen, Carol Barsha, Amy Hughes Braden, Si Jae Byun, Mei Mei Chang, Brian Dang, Thomas Drymon, Eric Garner, Pat Goslee, David Goslin, Christine Gray, Piper Grosswendt, Victoria Hsu, Ryan Carr Johnson, J.T. Kirkland, Cory Oberndorfer, Sarah Robbins, Nina Ozbey, Alex Peace, Maryanne Pollock, Marie Ringwald, Sarah Robbins, Pam Rogers, Sharon Rogers, Sharon Shapiro, Jessica van Brakle, Jenny Walton, and Elizabeth Whiteley.
