Northam, Herring Win Dem Lt. Gov., AG Nods

State Senators Ralph Northam (Norfolk) and Mark Herring (Loudoun) won the statewide Democratic primary for lieutenant governor and attorney general, respectively, Tuesday. In the City of Falls Church, where the voter turnout was 7.6 percent, Northam’s opponent Aneesh Chopra carried two of the City’s three wards and the total vote by a margin of 390-297. Otherwise, Northam carried Northern Virginia, overall. In Falls Church, Herring defeated Justin Fairfax, 450-215. The News-Press endorsed Chopra and Herring.
