City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for July 22 – 28, 2013

Larceny from Building, 450 N. Washington St. (Northgate Project) On July 22, an unknown suspect(s) stole various tools from the site.

Vandalism to Vehicle, 500 block Greenwich St. On July 22, an unknown suspect(s) slashed a tire of the victim’s vehicle.

Vandalism to Vehicle, 500 block Dorchester St. On July 22, an unknown suspect(s) slashed a tire of the victim’s vehicle.

Vandalism to Vehicle, 600 block Oakhaven Dr. On July 22, an unknown suspect(s) slashed a tire of the victim’s vehicle.

Driving After Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol, 100 block S. Virginia Ave. On July 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 19, of Arlington, was arrested for Driving After Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol.

Trespassing and Providing False ID to Law Enforcement, 312 Park Ave. (Cherry Hill Park) On July 24, a male, 70, of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Trespassing and Providing False ID to Law Enforcement.

Larceny from Building, 900 block Railroad Ave. On July 24, an unknown suspect(s) stole an unsecured bicycle from a residence.

Driving Under the Influence, 100 block W. Broad St. On July 25, an officer responded to the area for report of a motor vehicle crash. One of the drivers, a female, 48, of Centreville, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Noise Violation, 6607 Wilson Blvd. (BJ’s Wholesale) On July 25, an officer observed a truck driver pickup refuse from the location. The driver, a male, 62, of Garner, NC, was arrested and released on summons for a Noise Violation.

Possession of an Illegal Gambling Device, 6795 Wilson Blvd. #21 (Hai Lua) On July 25, a male, 41, of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Possession of an Illegal Gambling Device.

Driving Under the Influence, Operating a Vehicle After Being Declared a Habitual Offender, and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test, 100 block N. West St. On July 26, a male, 47, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Operating a Vehicle After Being Declared a Habitual Offender, and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test.

Panhandling, 1000 block E. Broad St. On July 26, a female, 24, of Fredericksburg, was arrested and released on summons for Panhandling.

Graffiti, 1300 block S. Washington St. On July 26, graffiti were found on the retaining wall.

Destruction of Property, 306 Hillwood Ave. (Lesly’s Restaurant) On July 27, police received a report that a glass window was broken.

Destruction of Property, 6757 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On July 27, police received a report that an individual was breaking a car window. After investigation, police arrested a male, 37, of Falls Church, for Destruction of Property.

Driving Under the Influence, 1000 block E. Broad St. On July 28, a male, 23, of Springfield, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Fairfax County also charged hit with two counts of Hit & Run Accidents related to this case.

Assault, 1107 W. Broad St. (U-Haul) On July 28, police responded to the location for a report of a fight. Investigation is ongoing.

Narcotics Violation, Unit block Hillwood Ave. On July 28, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a female, 39, of Remington, VA, was arrested and released on summons for Possession of Marijuana.

 Other Arrests 

Attempted Murder, On July 22, Long D. Tran, 38, of McDonough, GA, was arrested in Georgia and extradited to Virginia. He is charged with an October 2002 Attempted Murder in the Eden Center.

Hit and Run Accident, On July 23, a male, 52, of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Failure to Report an Accident which occurred earlier that day on S. Washington St.

Failure to Appear, On July 27, a male, 37, of Woodbridge, was arrested in Fairfax County after failing to appear in Falls Church General District Court.

Failure to Appear, On July 28, a male, 33, of Falls Church, was arrested in Fairfax County after failing to appear in Falls Church General District Court on July 17 to answer to Driving With a Suspended License charge.
