City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for September 2 – 8, 2013

NOTE: This report is not a definitive list of all criminal activity and is subject to change upon investigation. 

Strong Armed Robbery, 500 block Meridian St. On Sep. 2, several suspects assaulted two victims and stole an iPhone. The victims were treated and released for minor injuries.

Stolen Vehicle and Larceny of Vehicle Parts, 1125 W. Broad St. (Don Beyer Kia) On Sep. 2, an unknown suspect stole a vehicle and a license plate from the dealership. The suspect is described as a White male, 25 -30 years old, approximately 5’8” – 5’9” tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He had short blond hair and a medium build. The suspect was wearing a plain white t-shirt and black shorts with scratches on one leg and a possible tattoo on his arm. The vehicle was later recovered with the stolen license plate attached to the stolen vehicle.

Assault & Battery, 1218 W. Broad St. (Starbucks) On Sep. 2, police responded to the area for a report of a fight. An investigation led to the arrest of a male, 35, no fixed address, for two counts of Assault and Battery.

Burglary, 600 block Roosevelt. Blvd. On Sep. 2, police received a report of a person entering the property which occurred on Aug. 29.

Larceny, 450 N. Washington St. (Northgate Construction Site) On Sep. 3, an unknown suspect(s) stole various building materials from the site.

Panhandling, 1000 block E. Broad St. On Sep. 5, a male, 30, no fixed address, was arrested and released on summons for Panhandling.

Larceny from Building, 200 block E. Fairfax St. On Sep. 6, police received a report of stolen bicycles from a communal rack which occurred sometime in the past two months.

Larceny from Building, 6795 Wilson Blvd. On Sep. 6, police received a report of a stolen iPhone.

Driving Under the Influence, 500 block Great Falls St. On Sep. 6, a male, 45, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Public Drunkenness, 1000 block E. Broad St. On Sep. 8, a male, 27, of Falls Church, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.

Driving Under the Influence, 700 block E. Broad St. On Sep. 8, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 25, of Alexandria, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Smoking In a Non-Designated Area, 6779 Wilson Blvd. (Café Vy) On Sep. 8, a male, 45, of Fairfax; and a male, 41, of Silver Spring, MD, were arrested and released on summons for Smoking In a Non-Designated Area.

Smoking In a Non-Designated Area, 6795 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On Sep. 8, a male, 49, of Springfield, was arrested and released on summons for Smoking In a Non-Designated Area.

Possession of False ID, 500 block S. Washington St. On Sep. 8, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. A passenger in the vehicle had fictitious government ID cards. A male, 26, of Alexandria, was arrested for Possession of False ID. He was also held for an outstanding probation violation warrant from Alexandria.

Other Arrests

Failure to Comply, On Sep. 3, a female, 32, of Waldorf, MD, surrendered herself to police custody after being served a warrant for failure to comply with pretrial release conditions stemming from assault and failure to appear in court charges.

Contempt of Court, On Sep. 4, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The passenger, a male, 33, was arrested for Failure to Appear in Falls Church General District Court to answer to a Driving While Revoked due to a DUI conviction. Contempt of Court, On Sep. 4, a female, 23, of Falls Church, was arrested in Rappahannock County and was served a Falls Church warrant for Failure to Appear in Court to answer to an assault charge from July.

Contempt of Court, On Sep. 7, a male, 52, no fixed address, was arrested in Fairfax County and was served a Falls Church warrant for Failure to Appear in Court to answer to Public Drunkenness and Trespass charges.

Warrant Service, On Sep. 7, a male, 25, of Potomac Falls, was arrested for Failure to Appear in Richmond General District Court to answer to a Public Drunkenness charge.
