A man was shot four times in the parking lot of a Taco Bell on West Broad Street in the City of Falls Church early last Saturday morning, police say.
The City of Falls Church issued a press release late Monday asking for the public’s assistance in the shooting incident in the parking lot of a Taco Bell in the 900 block of W. Broad St. on Dec. 28, at 4:30 a.m.
Police say Carlos Gonzales, 23, of Arlington, was shot four times in the torso and transported by to Fairfax Inova Hospital where he underwent surgery and remains in stable condition. His car, a black Mercedes four-door sedan, remained at the scene in the Taco Bell parking lot as the police investigation continued Saturday.
Shocked merchants in the 900 block of W. Broad in the City told the News-Press they’d heard no further information, after opening their establishments later that same morning, on what transpired or of any motives, except for unsubstantiated rumors.
The incident marked the second shooting in the Little City in recent months. In September, a man was shot and killed in the parking lot of Eden Center. On Saturday night, Sept. 14 at 11:30 p.m., police responded to the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on reports of a fight in progress and shots fired. When police arrived, they found the Phuoc Huu Nguyen, 35, on the ground with a cut on his face and at least one gunshot wound.
