Falls Church was well-represented when the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington announced its finalists for the 2014 Rammy Awards Tuesday night. Pizzeria Orso was nominated for “Everyday Casual Restaurant of the Year” and “Everyday Casual Brunch,” Mad Fox Brewing Company earned a nomination for “Beer Program of the Year,” and 2941 Restaurant is a finalist for “Wine Program of the Year while its pastry chef, Caitlin Dysart, is in the running for “Pastry Chef of the Year.” Red Apron Butcher, with a location in Merrifield, was nominated for “Favorite Fast Bites” and “Regional Food and Beverage Producer of the Year.”

Also earning a nomination, Taco Bamba’s Victor Albisu is up for “Chef of the Year” for his new restaurant, Del Campo, in Washington, D.C.

Apparently the nominating committee didn’t hang around to experience the service at Pizzeria Orso, which is consistently poor.
