F.C. Resident Receives Distinguished Alumni Award

William Roberts III of Falls Church will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award from his alma mater, Black Hills State University, the school announced last week. The awards ceremony will take place during a homecoming luncheon on Friday, Oct. 9.

Roberts graduated from Black Hills State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, then graduated from Iowa State University School of Law as a juris doctor with honors. He made his way to the D.C. Metro area with his attendance at George Washington University’s School of Law, where he graduated with honors with a Master of Law degree.

Following his work in the general council of the U.S. Navy, he was chief counsel for Wang Inventories Inc., in the Federal Services Division. For the past 15 years he has been a co-chair and senior partner of Government Contracts Practice Group at Wiley Rein, LLP in Washington, D.C.
