Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for elections throughout Virginia, including for three City Council and three School Board seats in the City of Falls Church. The City has three polling places, the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, the Community Center and the Oakwood Apartments.

At stake are three of the seven seats on both the City Council and School Board. For the City Council, incumbents Mayor David Tarter and Phil Duncan are seeking elections to second four-year terms, and for the open seat, the three challengers are Johannah Barry and Sam Mabry, both who’ve served on the Council in the past, and Letty Hardi, seeking office for the first time.

In the School Board race, incumbents Chair Justin Castillo and long-time member Kieran Sharpe are seeking re-election, and challengers for their and the third seat include five candidates, Erin Gill, Phil Reitinger, Alison Kutchma, Becky Smerdon and Jacob Radcliff.

Follow along with the News-Press as results from today’s election will be reported LIVE after polls close at 7 p.m. tonight. We’ll be updating continuously, so keep refreshing the page to get the latest ballot results.
