George Mason High School’s boys varsity basketball team lost two games this past week, which extended the team’s home losing streak to three games.

George Mason High School wrestlers made the long drive to central Virginia on Jan. 9 to take on the Dragons of William Monroe High School in the Mustangs’ third district dual meet of the season.

George Mason High School’s girls varsity basketball team beat Madison County High School 54-40 at home on Tuesday. Last week, the Mustangs won two district games before losing for a second time to East Rockingham, a fellow VHSL state champion.

The George Mason High School club ice hockey team, partnering with West Potomac, took a detour on its winning path last week with a 4-4 tie against Briar Woods and a 12-3 shellacking by Lake Braddock.

The Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School club ice hockey team overcame a four-goal deficit to gain a 6-6 tie against previously unbeaten/untied Woodbridge last Friday night at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

LaBryan Thomas notched his 135th win in five years coaching the varsity team when the Mustangs beat Rappahannock County High School 71-33 last Friday at home, and it was the 100th win for the coaching staff as a whole.
