Virginia’s Nov. 3, 2020 election was the safest, most secure, most successful election in the history of the Commonwealth. That’s the conclusion of the Virginia Department of Elections’ recently released Post Election Report.

“We must quickly right the ship and put a clear plan for full-time instruction in place now. Our children are paying the high price for our collective inaction.”

None of these things should be taken lightly to be sure, but 2020 also provided three uncommon longer-term causes for hope and optimism about our species, our culture and democratic institutions.
