If you are bad like me, you plan elaborate trips abroad to soak in the fine art of the great museums of Paris, Florence or St. Petersburg, too often ignoring the fact that about a half-hour away is one of the finest museums in the world, our own National Gallery. You have until Sept. 17 to see this wonderful special exhibition of Bellini, Giorgione, Titian and others, more than 50 masterpieces in all. There are also public symposia starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17 on “Rediscovering Venetian Renaissance Painting.” To go along with this theme, the Garden Café at the Gallery also features Venetian cuisine, including a sumptuous buffet.
