The American Association of Daily Money Managers elected John Bowen of Bookkeeping and Money Management in Falls Church to be the association’s President during 2007. F.A. McGonegal Kitchen, located at 212 N. West Street in Falls Church, is offering the chance to get your free photo with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 16 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. McGonegal is also an official Toys for Tots donation center. Unwrapped toys will be welcome but are not necessary to secure photo time with Santa. Refreshments and good cheer will also be provided free of charge. General Dynamics elected Michael J. Mulligan, 43, a vice president of the corporation. Mulligan was appointed as president of the company’s General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products subsidiary in November, reporting to Charles M. Hall, executive vice president and group executive for General Dynamics’ Combat Systems business group. Mulligan has more than 20 years experience in the defense industry. He previously served as vice president of operations for General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products and worked at the corporation’s Electric Boat business unit in a variety of capacities. General Dynamics, headquartered in Falls Church, employs approximately 81,100 people worldwide and expects 2006 revenue of approximately $24 billion. George Mason High School in Falls Church has two exciting marketing opportunities available for local businesses. The Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce will be holding its Annual Members Meeting Luncheon on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. 2005-2006 President, and owner of Clay Café Studios, Helene Safford will announce the 2007 Board Officers and new Board Members in addition to providing a review of the Chamber’s activities over the past year. The Luncheon will take place from 11:30 – 1:00 at the Italian Café located at 7161 Lee Highway in Falls Church. Tickets are $25 for Members and $30 for non-members. The Small Business Administration is offering a Web Chat on “Year-End Tax Planning for Small Business Owners” on Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  The Web chat, featuring Thomas P. Ochsenschlager, vice president of Taxation for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, will review the importance of year-end planning and steps small business owners can take to reduce their 2006 tax bills and answer questions on year-end tax savings.
