Jody’s Jam of the Week

DC Comedy Showcase, Tuesday, January 16 at DC Improv

This Tuesday, the area’s lesser-known comedians will take center stage at the DC Improv for the latest installment of the club’s DC Comedy Showcase. Competing for a guest spot on a featured night at the Improv, the up-and-coming jokesmiths will perform 8-minute sets of their best funny stuff. Each month’s winners will then compete for the grand prize: a trip to L.A. to perform at the Hollywood Improv. Hitting the stage on Tuesday will be Matt Sapsford, John McBride, Jon Eick, Kris Payne, Tyler Sonnichsen, Andre Gatling, Marcus Brown, and Travis Spencer. If you haven’t had a chance to witness the scene that is the DC Improv, this is a great opportunity. The acts are great, it’s a cozy, friendly place, and your guaranteed to bust at least one gut laughing. Last year, each Showcase sold out, so be sure to get your tickets now.
