26th Annual Vintage Virginia Wine Festival, Bull Run Park, Centreville, Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3.

The good news this year is that the festival is much closer in. Bull Run Park is in Centreville, just 12 miles west of the Beltway. Take Exit 52 south on Rt. 29 two miles, turn left on Bull Run Post Office Road and follow the signs. Live music all day long, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., both days. Folks in the know recognize that Virginia wines have developed into some of the best anywhere and you will not be disappointed if you spend a little time seeking out tasty, and not expensive, offerings. Among my personal favorites are good dessert, or late harvest, wines. Am Rhein Vineyards has some excellent ones. Their potential role in romance can’t be overstated. There are plenty of crafts and food selections at the festival, too.
