Fifth Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration, Alden Theatre at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean, Sunday, Jan. 20, 3 to 5 p.m.

Arrive early if you want to attend this event, because it’ll be a sell out. Advanced ticket sales have already ceased, and some will go on sale at the ticket window at 2 p.m. Back by popular demand is the Richmond Boys Choir, which has performed on NBC’s Today Show. ‘Step Afrika!’ also performs, a professional dance company dedicated to a unique dance tradition created by African American college students. A combination of footsteps, claps and spoken words to intricate rhythms and sounds creates an amazing effect. The group has performed on CNN, BET, PBS and NPR. Also back by popular demand, guest speaker Michael Raymond Tapscott, director of the Multicultural Student Center at George Washington University, speaking on, “Dr. Martin Luther King: A Life Worth Living…for Tomorrow.”
