Ireland’s Four Provinces collected more than 100 toys at its annual staff holiday party.

After reading about the shortage of toys collected in Virginia the day prior to the party, 4 P’s owner Colm Dillon asked non-staff invitees to bring a toy to donate. Despite the short notice, attendees arrived with at least one toy per person to be donated to children in the area. For more information call 703-534-8999

New to You is collecting brand new hats, gloves, and Cherry Chap Stick for children participating in the Horton’s Kids programs. They need these items to help ward off the winter chill. Horton’s kids is a nonprofit social organization that helps to improve the lives of children in Anacostia. Items for 25 girls and 15 boys kindergarten through 3rd grade, 35 girls and 20 boys from 3rd grade to 8th grade, and 25 girls and 10 boys from 8-12 grade. Donations can be dropped off at 108 W. Broad St in FC through Jan 6, Tuesdays-Saturdays between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.. New to You is a women’s designer resale shop owned and operated by Christina Novak since 1992. Raul Mercado is the new Assistant Manager for the Falls Church branch of Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust. Mercado, who has been with the bank for 11 years, replaced Berhane Habtegabr and reports to Branch Manager Marina Westbrook. Habtegabr is now managing Burke & Herbert’s new Vienna branch.
