Unknowns Loom as F.C. Council & School Board Face $7.5 Million FY11 Budget Shortfall in Prelim Meeting

As ominous as the currently projected $7.5 million shortfall in Falls Church’s next fiscal year is, the F.C. City Council and School Board were presented with a plethora of revenue and expenditure unknowns by City officials outlining budget parameters at a joint work session tonight.

 

Levels of state and federal supports are not yet known, for example, but the policy makers were cautioned that deep cuts cannot now be ruled out that would make the shortfall much worse.
