Falls Church City Snow Emergency Lifted

The City of Falls Church has lifted its snow emergency declaration that limited parking on snow emergency routes, F.C. City officials announced at 4:31 p.m. today.

F.C. City Manager Wyatt Shields lifted the Snow Emergency declaration so vehicles may again park on snow emergency routes, F.C. Directory of Communications Barbara Gordon wrote  in an email today.

She noted, however, that the City’s snow removal efforts continue as crews are continuing to widen intersections and widening lanes. Falls Church Police also are reminding residents and businesses that sidewalks must be made passable for pedestrians.

Since the last snowfall, City police have issued about 20 warnings to businesses, 15 to residents and written three citations. Police will continue to issue warnings and citations for unshoveled sidewalks.
