City Announces 5 ‘Meet & Greet’ Wammie Parties for Sunday Night

The City of Falls Church is parterning up with the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) to kick off the 24th Wammies, WAMA’s music awards night honoring the region’s top musical talents.

While the main event starts at 8 p.m. at the historic State Theatre in downtown Falls Church at 220 N. Washington St., the City of Falls Church Economic Development Office (EDO) is organizing a series of “Meet & Greet” parties at five city restaurants, where fans can meet nominated artists while wining and dining.

The EDO is expecting more than 40 area musicians and bands to participate, from over 20 nominated musical categories. The artists will be on hand to talk to fans, as well as provide autographs and sell merchandise. by music genres, with multiple genres featured at any given venue. More than 40 artists and bands are expected to participate, representing over 20 musical categories.

The Meet & Greet parties will go from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the following locations:

Dogwood Tavern (132 W. Broad St., 703-237-8333). Featuring: World Music, Latin, Reggae, Urban Contemporary, Jazz, Rap/Hip-Hop, and Go-Go.

Clare and Don’s Beach Shack (130 N. Washington St., 703-532-9283). Featuring: Modern Rock, Pop Rock, Children’s, and Electronica.

Ireland’s Four Provinces (105 W. Broad St., 703-534-8999). Featuring: Country, Roots Rock, Folk – Contemporary, Folk – Traditional, and Bluegrass

Applebee’s Restaurant (127 E. Broad St., 703-532-5380). Featuring: Choral, Classical, Cabaret/Musical Theatre, and Big Band/Swing.

Hoang’s Grill & Sushi Bar (502 W. Broad St., 703-536-7777). Featuring: Blues/Traditional and Gospel/Inspirational.
