In the early morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 14, Arlington County Police apprehended three suspects believed to be responsible for over 30 vehicle break-ins and thefts in and around the City of Falls Church.
Interviews with the suspects revealed their pattern of traveling by Metro to Virginia to neighborhoods known for keeping vehicle doors unlocked at night with valuables inside. Their habit was not to break windows (to avoid attention), but to steal only from unlocked cars, and to steal cars with keys in the console. Whereas Tuesday morning, the suspects were arrested after being called by a citizen to the area where Tuckahoe Street borders the City of Falls Church, when they were questioned, over 30 vehicle break-ins in the area were accounted for, and three stolen vehicles.
A report of the development was circulated to homes in the Tuckahoe neighborhood by Falls Church Police, who assisted in the arrests and interrogations.
