USTA Team From Falls Church Takes Second in Competition

The United States Tennis Association Mid-Atlantic Section Team from Falls Church finished second at the USTA League 3.5 Adult National Championships held at the Jim Reffkin Center in Tucson, Ariz., from Oct. 29 – 31.

The Falls Church team lost to a team from Dallas 4-1 in the championship match. Earlier in the day, the Falls Church team defeated a team from Fort Lauderdale. (USTA Florida), 3-2 in the semifinals. The Virginia-area squad, which plays out of the Skyline Sport and Health Club, had advanced to the final day of play by virtue of winning their round-robin flight contested Friday and Saturday The team is captained by Ed Tiong and features Jean-Paul George Ed Tiong, Dante Paragas, Kornphat Ratchakrue, Marty Mortenson, Bryan Dillella, Jerry Cifuentes, Adam Bouffard, Florian Hafner, Antwan Williams, Ben Glas, Rafael Soberano, Eugene Cerezo, and Paul Hguyen-Ba.
