Arts Commission Application Workshop to Be Held Locally

The Virginia Commission for the Arts will present a series of statewide application assistance workshops to be held in January and February, 2011.

The Virginia Commission for the Arts will present a series of statewide application assistance workshops to be held in January and February, 2011. Workshop locations include: Richmond, South Boston, Bluefield, Waynesboro, Winchester, Arlington, Norfolk and Belle Haven on the Eastern Shore.

VCA Program Coordinator Cathy Welborn and Arts-in-Education Coordinator Elizabeth Cantile will provide an overview of grant programs, updates to the Guidelines for Funding, application and review procedures, as well as general tips on preparing competitive proposals in preparation for the March 1, 2011, and April 1, 2011, application deadlines.

Workshops are free and open to the public; pre-registration is not required. Attendance is not required in order to apply for Commission funding.
Participants are encouraged to download the 2011-12 Online Guidelines for Funding as well as appropriate applications to bring to the workshop are available at arts.virginia.gov.

A Virginia Commission for the Arts Grant Assistance Workshops will be held Jan. 19, 2011, from 10 a.m. – noon at Artisphere in The Dome Theatre, 1101 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. For more information on this workshop, call 703-875-1100.
