W&OD Trail 5K Run Honors Mess on March 27

Registration is underway for a 5K charity run on the W&OD trail in the City of Falls Church scheduled for Sunday, March 27 at 4 p.m. The run is planned to honor City resident a long-time park supporter Walter L. Mess.

Mess is best known as one of the founding members of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority as well as his extensive community involvement in a variety of activities. The run will begin and end at the American Legion Post 130, 400 N. Oak St. Registration and information is available online at www.mc-coop.org. Registration forms are also available at the City library, 120 N. Virginia Ave., and Community Center, 223 Little Falls St. The run is sponsored by Friends of the W&OD and proceeds will benefit the Friends and local charities.
