(TO11-15) Ordinance to Amend Water Service Rates (Commodity Charges, Peak Use Charges, and Service Charges Based on Meter Size) as of August 1, 2011

This Ordinance was given first reading on June 27, 2011; a second reading and final Council action is set for July 11, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., at Council Chambers, 300 Park Avenue, Falls Church, Virginia.

The City’s water service rates will be increased as follows:

*The current water rate – commodity charge ($3.03 per 1000 gallons), will increase 8%, effective August 1, 2011.

*The current water rate – peak use charge ($4.62 per 1000 gallons) will increase 8%, effective August 1, 2011.

*The service charges based on meter size will increase 8%, effective August 1, 2011.

The proposed amendments to the City’s water service rates as described above and as provided in proposed Ordinance (TO11-15) are authorized by Va. Code Ann. § 15.2-2143 and City Charter §§ 6.13 and 13.04.

Copies of the full text of (TO11-15) and information concerning the documentation for the proposed rate increases are available for examination by the public at the Office of the City Clerk and at the Office of the City Manager, 300 Park Avenue, Suite 303E, Falls Church, Virginia.
