The McLean Community Center won two Virginia Recreation and Park Society awards at the organization’s annual conference, which was held Sept. 17 – 20, in Norfolk.
The center won Best Promotional Effort Circular, Flyer or Poster for the Old Firehouse Teen Center’s Friday Night Dance Postcards and Best Promotional Effort Specialty or Apparel Piece for the Alden Theatre’s Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean.
MCC Executive Director George Sachs was presented with two plaques at the awards ceremony on Monday, Sept. 19. Both of the winning publications were designed by MCC’s Graphic Artist Hussain Mohammed. Mohammed was recognized at the Sept. 27 meeting of the MCC Governing Board.
