Longtime F.C. Resident, Army Veteran Lewis B. Price Jr. Dies

obit1Lewis B. Price Jr. died in Fredericksburg on Friday, June 1.

Price was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Wilmington, Del. He was the father of four children, and grandfather of 12. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Ruth Price, and his sister, Barbara Sherwood (Edward).

Price was a U.S. Army veteran and the owner of Price Trash Service. He was a longtime resident of the City of Falls Church, where he and his wife raised their children, all of whom graduated from George Mason High School.

Price retired from Wilbar Truck Equipment in 2005.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Susan Marcum Price of Fredericksburg; his son, Benjamin Price of Las Vegas; his daughter, Catherine Polera (Tom) of Centreville; his daughter, Suzanne Simpson (Jim) of Warrenton; and his son, Gregory Price (Claudia) of Las Vegas.

Additional survivors include his brothers, Richard and Roger Price, and his grandchildren, Michelle Polera, Benjamin Price, Caroline Simpson, Nicholas Polera, Jim Simpson, Bradley Price, Daniel Simpson, Sara Price, Catherine Price, Lindsay Polera, Gregory Price and Natalie Price.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Westmoreland Community Church, 1988 Kirby Road, McLean.
