URGENT: Hillwood Avenue Standoff Ends With Surrender, No Injuries

Falls Church Vice Mayor David Snyder has reported to the News-Press that the standoff between an armed individual and regional police forces ended without violence or injuries tonight.

Snyder was present when the word was given by Falls Church Police and Fire Marshal officials to the City’s public information officer at about 9:45 p.m. Snyder said that police officials entered the home to remove the suspect without incident and take him to an area hospital. Snyder praised the regional public safety cooperative effort in resolving the matter without injury after a standoff that began at 4:30 p.m. yesterday. The incident was provoked by a domestic dispute.
