McLean H.S. Principal Departs

McLean High School principal Deborah R. Jackson announced Monday that she will be leaving her position as of this week. She said she’s been selected as the new Special Project Administrator for Fairfax County Public Schools, working in collaboration with the Employee Performance and Development staff in the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Leadership Development and Professional Learning and Accountability to develop district wide assessments.

Although she will greatly miss the Highlander community, she said, “I am quite honored by this appointment and look forward to serving the greater Fairfax County Public Schools community.” Jackson has been the principal at McLean High for the past five years. The process of selecting a replacement has begun, and former FCPS administrator Paul Jones will serve as acting principal in the interim. Jones was McLean High’s assistant principal before his retirement.
