I-66 West Lanes Close This Weekend

The Virginia Department of Transportation will close multiple lanes of I-66 west at the Capital Beltway this weekend from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, through 5 a.m. Mon., August 27. Crews will be performing demolition, excavation, paving and roadway markings.

All closures are weather permitting. One of two lanes on the exit ramps from both I-495 north and south to Exit 49, I-66 west will also be closed Friday night through Sunday night. The I-495 southbound ramp to I-66 west will close completely Sunday night at 9:30 p.m. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east, follow signs to I-495 north and take Exit 49, I-66 west. Motorists can expect 30 minute delays and are strongly urged to use an alternate route during the weekend construction.
