UPDATE: All Falls Church City Public Schools Open Wednesday

UPDATE 3: Falls Church City Public Schools reported that shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday night, power was restored to Mount Daniel Elementary. It will open on-time Wednesday along with all other Falls Church City Public Schools.

UPDATE 2: Mount Daniel is still without power at 10 p.m. Tuesday night. School officials will make a final decision on the school opening Wednesday at 5:30 a.m.

UPDATE: As of 8 p.m., there is still no power at Mount Daniel Elementary.

Falls Church City Public Schools Thomas Jefferson Elementary, Mary Ellen Henderson and George Mason High will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, October 31 on a normal schedule. There is no word yet on the status of classes at Mount Daniel Elementary School, however, as power is still out to the school on North Oak Street.

FCCPS Director of Communications John Brett says that Dominion Power crews are working to restore power to the school and updates to the community will be released at 8 and 10 p.m. tonight and then again at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow morning on the status of power and opening at the school.

All four buildings have passed their safety inspections and are clear to open once the power is restored, Brett reported.
