MEH & Mason Musicians Earn Spots in District Band

Earlier this month, 37 George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School student musicians auditioned for District X Band at West Potomac High School. Student competitors came from Falls Church, Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria.

MEH students picked for Middle School District Band were Dominique Barna, flute; Yael Cohen, Craig Fischer, Lacey Lindquist, and Micah Ayre, clarinet; Bhaskar Singhvi, bass clarinet alternate; Cindy Lay and Siana Hinsz, bassoon; Lucy Hoak, Sam Updike, and Nathan Sperry, French horn; Christian Autor, trumpet alternate; and Timothy Gilmour, euphonium.

For High School District Band, Nathan Frost, clarinet, earned a spot in the District Wind Ensemble. Lauren Bowling, clarinet; Alyssa Forbes, oboe; Rachel Croxton and Ada Haensel, trumpet; and Max Hendricks, euphonium, earned spots in the Symphonic Band.

District Band will be held at Hayfield High School on Jan. 31, Feb. 1 and 2.
