NoVa Federally Employed Women to Host STEM Forum March 23

The Northern Virginia Chapter of Federally Employed Women has organized a forum for National Women’s History Month to recognize women in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

The event, “Women Inspiring Innovation through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics,” is scheduled for next Saturday, March 23, from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the Falls Church Community Center’s art room.

Guest speakers are Falls Church City Council Member Johannah Barry and Dr. Ronnie B. Lowenstein of Lowenstein and Associates.

Barry, as a council member, sits on a number of Washington Metropolitan Council Government Committees related to energy. She is also founder and president of Galapagos Conservancy, a non-profit organization that promotes environmental awareness.

Lowenstein has pioneered interactive technologies as tools of transformation, and championed partnerships as strategy for change. She facilitated the opening of 11 Community Technology Centers, and helped secure more than $6 million for partnership programs.

The Falls Church Community Center is located at 223 Little Falls St., Falls Church. For more information, call 703-248-5077.
