VPIS Spring Meeting to Feature ‘Trees for the Bay’ Talk

The Falls Church Village Preservation and Improvement Society’s spring meeting this Thursday will feature a presentation by Jim McGlone, urban forest conservationist for the Virginia Department of Forestry, titled “Trees for the Bay.”

Those in attendance can learn about the interaction between the City’s tree canopy and storm-water matters as McGlone discusses how the development of a vibrant tree canopy can help with storm-water and floodplain management. A panel discussion and refreshments will follow.

The meeting, which is open to all, will take place this Thursday, May 9, from 7:30 – 9 p.m. at the Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St. For more information, visit vpis.org.
