Mason Grad Earns Social Anth Degree from U. of Manchester

Adam Dzierwa323grad, George Mason High School Class of 2005, received on July 16 a Master of Arts degree from the School of Social Sciences of the University of Manchester, England.

At the graduation ceremony at Manchester University – a member institution of the Russell Group (England’s Ivy League) – Dzierwa was one of only two students receiving a post-graduate degree in Social Anthropology.

Dzierwa is a 2010 graduate of Guilford College, where he majored in History and minored in Anthropology. In 2009, Dzierwa spent a semester abroad in Munich, which required an additional year of undergraduate study in order to learn the German language.

Dzierwa has lived among other cultures for much of his life, and can now point to a formal education that supports his chosen career pursuits.

Going forward, Dzierwa seeks an opportunity in a Faculty of Arts and Humanities environment to apply his knowledge and firsthand experience in a social anthropological setting. He is currently looking at programs sponsored by several U.K. universities to continue his work toward earning a Ph.D. in anthropology and social science research.
