F.C. Soccer Flames Join D.C. United on the Field

334soccerThe Falls Church Flames Girls U12 Recreational Soccer Team had the unique opportunity on Oct. 4 to walk the D.C. United players onto the field prior to their nationally televised Major League Soccer game against the Chicago Fire. The girls all had family and friends in attendance at RFK Stadium, and left that night with D.C. United uniforms and amazing memories. Pictured above with D.C. United Players are, from left to right, Tommy Shaw, Holly Nelson, Helen Morris, Julia Rosenberger, Hannah Seiken, Caroline Gray, Lara Cooperman, Kyra West, Zoe West, Josephine Shaw, and Maya Richter. This is the first season for Head Coach Dennis Richter. The team’s 14 girls represent four different schools in Falls Church; the majority of them attend Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School. The Flames are hitting their stride, as they won their last game 6-1 and are currently in third place of seven teams in their division.
