City of Falls Church Public Schools will be closed for students and staff on Thursday, Feb. 13, due to the storm currently hitting the D.C. area tonight.

An announcement on the City school’s website also says that George Mason High School girls basketball final in Strasburg is also cancelled. All evening activities after 9 p.m. at school facilities are cancelled as well.

Monday’s Presidents Day Holiday, Feb. 17, for Falls Church City Public Schools will be unaffected by any change in schedule on Thursday or Friday due to the anticipated winter storm.

The City of F.C. is currently under a snow emergency, in effect since 8 p.m. Wednesday night. Due to the declaration, parking along designated emergency routes will be limited until the emergency is lifted. A map of the City’s emergency routes can be found here.
