F.C. Farmers’ Market Peak Season & Chef Series Return

The City of Falls Church Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. – noon starting this Saturday, April 5. The extended hours will last through December. Each Saturday at the farmers’ market, more than 35 vendors offer locally grown fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, baked goods, plants, and wine. Even more vendors will join the market starting May 3.

The 2014 Falls Church Farmers’ Market Chef Demonstration Series kicks off on April 19 with a presentation by Chef Tracy O’Grady from Willow Restaurant. The series brings Washington, D.C.-area restaurants into the market to develop recipes using local, seasonal food. The series also highlights the importance of eating local, seasonal food. Free demonstrations and tastings start at 9 a.m.

Restaurants to be featured in the series are Willow Restaurant (April 19 and Aug. 9), 2941 (May 20 and July 19), Mad Fox Brewing Company (June 7 and Oct. 18), Bastille (July 28), Lebanese Taverna (Sept. 20), and Pizzeria Orso (Nov. 8)
