Crime Report: Domestic Assault, Wallets Stolen from F.C. Gym & More Bike Thefts

After four bicycles were reported stolen in last week’s City of Falls Church Crime Report, two more were stolen the following week according to the latest edition of the report. Police say one bike was stolen from George Mason High School on Monday, June 23 and another was taken, and later recovered, from the 400 block of Sherrow Avenue on Thursday, June 26.

In other larceny news, two wallets were stolen from lockers at 24 Hour Fitness, a medical lock box was taken from an office on Park Avenue and a 46-year old man was arrested for stealing two mini liquor bottles from the ABC Store on Hillwood.

Additionally, a 63-year old man was arrested for simple assault on Gibson Street on Monday, June 23 and, two days later, a 52-year old man was arrested for domestic assault on Sycamore Street on Wednesday.

City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for June 23 – 29, 2014

Driving Under the Influence, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. On June 23, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 29, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Larceny from Building, 7124 Leesburg Pike (George Mason High School) On June 23, police received a report that a bicycle was stolen sometime between June 19 and 20.

Graffiti, 210 W. Annandale Rd. (Big Chimney Park) On June 23, graffiti were found on playground apparati.

Assault, 200 block Gibson St. On June 23, police investigated a report of an assault. A warrant was later issued and police arrested a male, 63, of the City of Falls Church, for Simple Assault.

Shoplifting, 167 Hillwood Ave. (Virginia ABC Store) On June 24, two miniature liquor bottles were stolen from the store. After an investigation, police arrested and released on summons, a male, 46, of Falls Church, for Shoplifting.

Larceny from Building, 1000 E. Broad St. (24 Hour Fitness) On June 24, police received a report that two lockers were broken and two wallets were stolen.

Larceny from Building, 313 Park Ave. On June 25, police received a report that a medical lock box was stolen from an office.

Domestic Assault, 300 block Sycamore St. On June 25, police arrested a male, 52, of the City of Falls Church, for Assaulting a Family Member.

Driving Under the Influence, Fraudulent Use of a Birth Certificate, and Identity Theft, 300 block Hillwood Ave. On June 26, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 25, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Fraudulent Use of a Birth Certificate, and Identity Theft.

Larceny of Bicycle, 400 block Sherrow Ave. On June 26, police received a report that a locked bicycle was stolen and later recovered.

Forging Public Records and Identity Theft, 1100 block W. Broad St. On June 26, a male, 22, of Arlington, was arrested for three counts of Forging Public Records and Identity Theft.
